Intro to Feng Shui
Feng Shui is the study of the energy flow in spaces and its effects on people. Originated in China thousands of years ago, Feng Shui made its way to the Western world and adapted to the Western ways, striving to create the balance between the seen and the unseen energies in our spaces.
Feng means ‘wind’ and Shui means ‘water’, while wind symbolizes the invisible energies like thoughts, desires, emotions, goals; water represents the visible energies like our homes, cars, clothes, furniture, basically everything we see around ourselves. Balance is sought to be created in the space as wind disperses the energy but water holds it.
Life energy called ‘chi’ in Chinese, ‘ruach’ in Hebrew, ‘prana’ in Hindu, ‘qi’ in Japanese is the energy that makes existence possible and it is through this energy we are all connected to everyone and everything around us.
Feng Shui studies the exterior of the house, interior, furniture placement, energy areas of the space to determine how ‘chi’ is flowing. Any discovered issue will mirror in our lives as different kinds of problems in relations, finances, careers, health. With cures, the energy opens up and starts flowing again remedying any situation that is causing us blockages.
Clutter clearing, five elements, yin & yang balance, bagua map, furniture placements are the basic aspects of Feng Shui.
